We recommend that your Heather Wallace cashmere is gently washed after it has been worn three or four times.
Cashmere knitwear can be hand washed or dry cleaned. We recommend hand washing, following these few simple guidelines:

Cashmere - is the hair from the cashmere goat - there are many different herds living in various countries but the superior hair is on the goats from Inner Mongolia - our cashmere sweaters are all knitted only using this pedigree quality.

The goats hair is hand combed from their underbelly once a year in the springtime.

The resultant hair is scarce..after it is carefully examined and graded... and it takes the produce of 2-3 goats to knit one cashmere sweater. The hair is transported to the cashmere specialists for cleansing, spinning and dyeing.

Camelhair - is the hair from a unique camel - the Bactrian - which is bred especially and roams the Gobi desert. The hair is hand combed once a year from the chest of this camel. This hair is naturally very soft and warm but does not take any dye material so is available only in the natural colour.

Lambswool - our lambswool comes from the pedigree sheep bred especially for the excellent quality of wool. These sheep live in South Australia and are famous for their unique wool. When the lamb is first fleeced at 7 months of age the soft virgin wool is then sent to the British spinner who create a galaxy of classic and fashion colours.

This wool is knitted at a tight tension on the special "frames" so the garment will not pill or lose any of its shape under normal circumstances.

By using the very best natural fibres available... then having these turned into top quality yarns by experts at colour and spinning production... the designs are created and the garments knitted in Hawick, Scotland on fully - fashioned machinery.

The spinners and the knitter have all been in business for over a hundred years each and are proud to maintain the Scottish tradition of working with the best to produce the best.
